SPREAD LENS
A glass lens accessory used to diffuse and widen beam patterns.
STERADIAN
The solid angle subtended at the center of a sphere by an area on the
surface of the sphere equal to the square of the sphere radius.
SCRIM
Scrim material made into a curtain, when lit from the front it appears
opaque, when lit from behind the scrim appears transparent.
SIDE LIGHT
Lights projecting from the side of a performance space to enhance the
dimension of lighted objects.
SNOOT
Unit hung in front of fixture to confine light beams. Also known as Top Hat
or High Hat.
SOURCE FOUR
ETC spotlight that contains 4 buit in framing shutters to shape light beams,
soft to hard edge focus. Includes pattern slot to hold accessories. Ideal to
project various stock pattern designs or custom logos.
STROBE LIGHT
A light that flashes on and off quickly.
SUBWOOFER
Speaker used to boost low frequency sound only.
S SCANNER
Scanners are intelligent lighting that can control the position of a beam of
light using either a mirror or by moving the light source itself. Most
scanners also have the ability to change colors and gobos.
SCENE
A single stationary display of light. A single step within a chase or a
program.
