METAL HALIDE LAMP
an HID light source in which radiation from a mixture of metallic vapors
produces visible light, characterized by a white color.
MULTIFACETED REFLECTOR
a low voltage halogen reflector lamp that is used in lighting applications
where precise beam control is required, such as accent lighting. Some MR
lamps, such as projection lamps, are designed for line-voltage operation.
MULTILEVEL BALLAST
multilevel ballasts allow fluorescent and HID lamps to be switched between
two or more lighting levels. The device that activates the change in light
output may be a photosensor, an occupancy sensor, or a timer.
MIDI
Musical Digital Interface control protocol. Allows lighting controllers to
respond to midi signals to execute control commands over lighting equipment.
MIXER
A device used to combine and adjust sound levels of multiple microphones and
or instruments.
MONITOR
Enables the sound to be heard by the performer.
MICROPROCESSOR
The small computer inside many of Ryger's products that controls the way the
unit works.
MIDI (MUSICAL INSTRUMENT DIGITAL INTERFACE)
The method of communication between digital musical instruments e.g.
keyboards, drum machines and sequencers.
