LED / L.E.D.
Light Emitting Diode. LED technology is becoming extremely useful in the
areas of architectural lighting and video walls. LED light sources are
becoming brighter and cheaper. They are extremely efficient, and give off
very little heat, making them ideal for display or architectural work. LED
video walls are in use all over the world - they are more efficient and
lighter in weight than projection alternatives.
LEE

LEKO
A type of ellipsoidal profile spot, much used in the USA. Contraction of the
original manufacturers names.
LENS
Optical glass with one or both sides curved, the purpose of which is to
direct light by concentrating or dispersing light beams.
LCD LIQUID CRYSTAL DISPLAY
A Display that relies on an external source of illumination. Most commonly
the displays appear with a grey/green background and with black digits or
text. The display can be illuminated in one of two ways. Backlit with LED's
or other light source shining through the display or Reflective with ambient
light passing through the display and being reflected back from a partially
reflective rear plate.
LED / LIGHT EMITTING DIODE
A self illuminating display used in many of Ryger's controllers , Available
in red, yellow, green and more rarely blue.
LIGHT CUE
Any point in the running of a show where lighting changes occur.
