JACK PLUG/SOCKET
A connection most usually used for sound. It comes in various sizes but 1/4" (6.32mm)is most common. The Jack can be either stereo (3 Connections) or mono (2 Connections).

JONES PLUG / JONES SOCKET
Type of multipin connector used on some lighting desks for analog outputs.

JUMPER
An adaptor from one type of electrical connector to another. For example, a 13 - 15A jumper has a 13A plug and a 15A socket at either end of a short cable. Also applicable to sound cables.
