FLASH PAD OR BUTTON
Switches on a channel whilst being touched or pressed. The channel will turn
off when the pad or button is released.
FEEDER CABLE
Cable that feeds power to energize dimmers, or high power electrical
devices.
FILL LIGHT
Secondary to primary light source.
FLOOD LIGHT
Lighting fixture that emits a broad field of light with a soft edge such as
a borderlight, scoop light, cyc light or Q light.
FOCUS
Adjusting beam spread from spot to flood, or to light a specific part of an
area of the stage.
FOCUS PRESET
Memorized focus positions stored in memory.
FOG MACHINE
A machine that creates a cloud of smoke to enhance lighting effects.
FOLLOWSPOT
Designed to cast light on a performer or moving objects, most followspots
contain a built in iris to adjust the spread of light, and a color boom to
change colors.
FRESNEL
Soft edge light that allow adjustment of the beam size from spot to flood by
means of a sliding knob.
FULL RANGE SPEAKER
Produces high, mid, and low range frequencies.
